Astis Mittens are getting to be a cult item in North America. Definitely not the same old same old. These beautiful hand crafted suede leather ski mitts and gloves from Astis provide a comfortable feel, superior warmth, breathability, waterproofing, durability and uniquely beautiful aesthetics.
Astis means ‘mittens’ in the Cree Indian language and the story of the Astis brand is tied to that heritage.
Astis mittens are purpose made for skiing but they are versatile. Wear them skiing in heavy winter chill, on a walk to dinner on the coldest winter night, or skiing on a sunny spring day. No wonder they have picked up a swag of awards, including Outside Gear of the Year at America’s SIA trade show in 2013.
Astis beaded mittens and gloves are extremely durable and will be the only pair you will ever want to wear. The clean functional design with no drawstrings, buckles or clips provides easy on/easy off capabilities. The length and cut of the long gauntlet design allows for jacket sleeves to slide fully inside without bunching, whilst providing a close fit at the wrist that protects the wrists and hands from snow in the heaviest of powder days.
Astis leather mitts and gloves are made in the USA. The leather hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the bead work is completed in Los Angeles, with the mittens being stitched in two facilities – one in San Francisco and the other in Bend, Oregon, at the base of mighty Mt Bachelor.
There are 4 styles, mostly unisex and almost 50 different bead designs to choose from – so there will be at least one or two you fall in love with.
