Ski 2013-14: Volkl One
Ok, we’ve got 194 skis in the Buyer’s Bible issue so lets take a look at some highlights. Volkl’s new ONE & TWO super playful freeride boards are designed for fun and we had plenty road testing the ONE in Niseko recently. They slashed the pow and diced the trees, being Niseko there wasn’t much hardpack to try them on that too but, just for fun, we did hit some groomer lines and carved them so snappy it felt like we could be running slalom gates on them. That might be defeating the purpose, but did demonstrate the one, with its 138 – 116 – 130 shape will rock downunder as well as in deeper zones up north. Definitely put them high on your must-demo-that list, or just buy a pair and have fun.
