But they have back up – a Zoom event for Sunday 6th of September – see details below.

It would have been the 3rd festival, uniting all BC disciplines and disciples.
The 2020 Victorian Backcountry Festival has been cancelled following the Victorian Premier’s announcement of a State of Disaster resulting in Stage 4 restrictions on Victorians in metropolitan Melbourne and Stage 3 restrictions on regional Victoria.
Festival Organiser Cam Walker congratulates the volunteers on a fantastic job organising the program and hopes to put those ideas in motion for 2021.
“We are all sad that the festival can no longer go ahead and are focusing our efforts on organising the 2021 program which is booked in to start on 3rd September 2021″, Cam says.
“In order to keep the spirit of the festival alive, even just virtually, we are planning a free online Zoom event for Sunday 6th September 2020.
“There will be a range of speakers presenting on ‘all things backcountry’ such as an Intro to Splitboarding, Bush Search and Rescue, Climate Action, and Outdoor Photography amongst many others.
“The online session will go from 1pm-5pm, we hope to see you there!”
