Getting to Sendai

The shinkansen is the fast way to Sendai, around 90 minutes from Tokyo with 80 plus trains daily. For morest foreign visitors the “JR East Pass Tohoku Area” and “JR East and South Hokkaido Rail Pass” are the best way to include Sendai in an itinerary very affordably.
You can reserve seats and check timetables to plan a multi destination ski trip easily on the JR East Rail website.
Alternatively, several Asian airline fly to Sendai so various often cheap international connections are available from around the region – Asiana from Seoul daily, Air China twice weekly from Shanghai, and 12 weekly flights from Taiwan with EVA, Tiger Taiwan and Peach Aviation.
