Snow Cat First Tracks Experience

Step out into the silence of dawn at Kamui Ski Links for your own incredible private snow experience of Snow Cat First Tracks in-bounds and out-bounds at Kamui Ski Links. You’ll be first to the fresh track, of the lightest powder snow you will ever ski on.

VIP Access

Grab your first coffee of the day and get ready for a 6am Asahikawa city pick up. Within 30 minutes you’ll be the first to arrive in the resort car park and yours will be the only footsteps made in the snow that day. Gear up and grab your skis & poles or snowboard and step aboard into the warmth of Kamui’s large Red Snow Cat as it makes its way oversnow to the top of the resort. Step down onto fresh snow and be greeted by the beauty of the forests and the view overlooking fields, mountains and the river below.

The downward skiing experience is yours and your group’s only as the sun comes up out of the dawn mist and darkness. Between 7am and 9am you will lap the resort finding the best in-bound and out-bound terrain with the help of your own personal resort guide and ski patrol. When your morning session is over and you’ve got energy to burn, you’ll be given a special Fastpass giving you priority lift access all day till last lifts.

VIP room

As part of the Snow Cat First Tracks Experience, set up for a family or group day at Kamui Ski links in the newly built VIP room. This is a great base for your group’s non-skiers, including kids or babies who might need a daysleep (nap) somewhere quiet. Warmed by a gas fireplace, away from the noise of the public, your group can enjoy fridge space and a coffee machine while watching the action of the slopes through elongated windows- it’s the best seat in town. Purchase lunch, drinks and snacks and pastries from Centre’s restaurants below.  Relax and regroup at the couches and tables here in the VIP room.

Snow Cat First Tracks Cost

300,000 yen for a maximum of 8 people and includes a guide and ski patrol, lift passes and resort  Fast Pass. Kamui Ski Links

In the heart of Hokkaido’s 200km North-to-South running Powder Belt sits Kamui Ski Links, or ‘Kamui’as it is called. Located 21km from Hokkaido’s second largest city of Asahikawa, Kamui is accessible by car or bus or taxi within just 30 minutes.

Kamui is a fun uncrowded resort to enjoy Japan’s well-known groomed fall line runs with a straight long fall line with undulating terrain with multiple groomed runs cut through trees of differing slope angle & a variety of well spaced trees of moderate steepness.

For advanced skiers and snowboarders, Kamui offers really good quality snow and when it snows, the powder is deep and the tree skiing is amazing. This First Tracks service is well-suited to strong intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. You can access great low level terrain off the two lowest chairs & a green run off the gondola. Kamui offers an international ski school under International Snowsports Manager, Takao Maruyama.
