Some Stories Are Worth Taking Your Time
30 years of print, culture, and mountain stories.
Next year, Snow Action turns 30. That’s three decades of skiing, snowboarding, travel, gear, mountain stories and the people who make snow culture what it is.

A lot has changed in that time. The way we discover destinations, share stories and consume media looks very different from when Snow Action first hit the shelves. But one thing hasn’t changed – people still love a good magazine as much as they love digital articles, they’re just different but outdoors people value taking breaks from screens and keeping things low-tech too.
Human interaction
You see Snow Action magazines in cafés, hotel lobbies, airport lounges and homes across Australia. Magazines get picked up, passed around and read at a pace that suits the reader. They’re not competing with the next notification or disappearing into a social media feed. They’re something you can sit down with, cut the pages out, bookmark, share around and pick up and put down.

At Snow Action, we believe there’s still real value in thoughtful, well-produced print. A great travel story can inspire your next trip. An honest gear review can help you make a decision. A local perspective can introduce you to a mountain or destination you hadn’t considered before.
Meaningful storytelling > polished noise
Digital and social media are important parts of how we connect with our audience, print continues to play a meaningful role. Snow Action is made by people who love the mountains, for people who love the mountains.
We work with writers, photographers, skiers, riders and industry insiders to tell stories that go beyond a quick picture and a caption.

Why it is worth fighting for
As we approach our 30th year, we’re proud of the magazine’s history and excited about what’s ahead. Because some stories deserve a little more time than a cursory glance and a scroll through and some magazines are worth keeping and collecting. And you’ll find the readers of Snow Action love doing just that.
