SALOMON SMAX 10
AN ALL ROUND SKI
This ski is a great all-rounder. It has a nice spring to it (flex) without being too light or chattering on snow. It’s the perfect weight for skiing all over the mountain, especially if you’re coming from a heavier regular ski. I used it in the 170cm length so next time I’d go one size down as I’m a tall female but for performance responding to drills and turns on the mountain in all conditions – it was great.
The technology in the ski assists with great turning capacity. It has an Edge Amplifier which assists with faster responsiveness in edging and it has the dual core, Ashwood core reinforced with materials to make everything stable but not too heavy.

SALOMON SMAX 12 MENS ALL ROUND SKI
This ski was demo’d at NZ’s Treble Cone on firm groomers early in the day then wet spring snow to spring corn conditions later throughout the day.
The skis felt well weighted, they initiated the turns responsively and they have a consistent flex pattern to them. They’re really stable underfoot at high and low speeds. A great ski for a high-intermediate to an advanced skier. This was the fourth pair of skis demo’d during this week and this was the firm favourite. An excellent choice for a one-ski quiver skier who likes to travel light.
