The new, all-encompassing Summit Series™ will include the brand’s pinnacle lines for alpine and ice climbing, as well as big-mountain ski and snowboard gear and apparel.

In previous seasons the collection was split into two categories, with alpine apparel and equipment falling under Summit Series™ and all snow apparel and equipment under Steep Series™. The amalgamation considers the increasing multi-disciplinary approach to exploration in the mountains. Rather than focusing on a singular activity, people are now often combining several disciplines during a single mission, which requires a kit that can be adapted to multiple activities, conditions, and output levels.

The latest release offers a highly versatile layering system, including activity-specific shell kits, mid layers, first layers and baselayers. This gives athletes and customers control over how they layer based on conditions, output level and personal preferences. Layering pieces can be combined to manage heat and moisture and create the perfect kit for any mission no matter the conditions.

As well as a men’s and women’s shell kit, layering apparel, and equipment, The North Face has also released Summit Series™ footwear. The Men’s and Women’s Summit Breithorn FUTURELIGHT™ features breathable-waterproof technology to create a light, protective boot that thrives in a variety of conditions and terrains, including rock and snow.

The Summit Series™ Collection has always been rooted in an athlete-centric, solution-minded approach to design and product development. The new collection is more than a layering system, it’s performance technology built to acclimate to the world’s most challenging conditions.

The collection is now available online or in The North Face Australia and New Zealand stores.
