Mark “Macca” MacDonald is something of a legend in the Falls Creek Community, he has been ski Instructing since he was 16, and has continued this path to this day, some years later. Mark is a level 4 Trainer Examiner with the APSI and has been part of the National Demo team more than once, has taught all over the world, and is an experienced Backcountry Guide with years of practice.
Falls Creek Guides is his brainchild. They mix back country touring in the beautiful Victorian Alps in winter and guided walking and e-bike tours in the greener months. Macca saw a hole in this market, with no real organised backcountry activities being run year-round from Falls Creek. He took the plunge and started his own company, no mean feat in a global pandemic.
Macca has everything from basic half and full day guided tours to multi day overnight experiences to challenge the experienced ski tourer. Equipment in the way of skis and skins are provided, you need your own boots or to hire some, meals from the simple to the gourmet are provided on all but the introductory tours. The same applies to the e-bike tours in the warmer months, tents, sleeping bags all the gear is provided and factored into the cost.

For the Ski tours, you need to be an intermediate skier, so able to ski blue runs, of moderate fitness and possess a sense of Adventure. Skiing and hiking/Cycling at altitude can be stressful on the body so some fitness is required. All food provided can be catered to all dietary needs.
