For all those people thinking there’s nothing to see or do in Perisher, after hours… please keep thinking that… so we maintain a little elbow room at the bar. For anyone who considers themselves a Perisher die-hard, we know its after-skiing scene holds its own, so if you want to know what we know, here’s a few reasons we keep coming back year after year.
Marritz Hotel
Once reserved exclusively for in-house guests and steeped in history, this secluded boutique cocktail bar is now open to the public and is a quiet, relaxed environment to enjoy an après cocktail with a beautiful view of the mountain. Open 7 days from noon
Happy hour 4pm to 5pm Guests and non-guests can stay on and have dinner.

Corroboree
This low-key lodge bar is open to the public from about 4pm and with a pool table and live music during Peak Festival, which kicks off the season every June long weekend. The vibe here is cozy, more suited to people unwinding and having a fireplace chat www.corroboreeskilodge.com.au
The Eiger
This much loved on-snow Chalet comes alive in the afternoons, with live music from 4pm-6pm (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat). It’s a popular stop for skiers traveling between lodges, perfect for a quick drink that often turns into something more. Expect a lively, local atmosphere – think cocktails, music and a lots of dancing. As the evening sets in, the White Spider Restaurant remains open to the public to wine and dine. https://eiger.com.au/

Perisher Valley Hotel
The secret squirrel spot to watch your kids in the learning area, if they’re at ski school in front valley, this lovely restaurant area faces up front valley, central without being too central and is the spot of a cheeky beverage before kids pick up. Hot chocolate for the drivers of course. https://www.perisher.com.au/perisher-valley-hotel
Guthega Pub
Well-known for Tomahawk steaks, the Guthega Pub is worth skiing over for the views if you’re up for a little excursion. You’ll have to be at an intermediate level to cover this much terrain but it’s all part of the fun. The kitchen closes at 2.30pm with the last chairlift closing at 3pm to get you home. For non-skiers, you’ll have to drive around. https://www.guthegainn.au/
“The Man”
Chicken wings and live music from 4pm with youngies jostling for pool tables, the vibe is low-key and rowdy with views up Front Valley. https://www.themanfromsnowyriver.com.au/

Base 1720 Bar and Restaurant
A different angle on keeping your eye on Front Valley and so close to the Village Eight Chair, you can read the chairlift numbers. Open from 11am till late with lunch and bar snacks to nibble on. The cocktails are good too.
Sun Lovers
Facing the sun is a big factor at Perisher, with views with varying aspects, East, North East, West etc. If you’re staying in a lodge there’s a very good chance your views are incredible, particularly as the sun goes down, painting the alpine landscape in pink and orange hues. Skiing with a lodge member or lodge guests? Prepare to be farewelled in favour of BYO drinks on verandahs, it’s where the good times roll. At the base of Eyre T-Bar, sun-chasing is a thing (during daytime only before lifts close) It’s full sun when it’s on and the vibe is old school sunworshipper.
Of course, there’s more but if we tell you, we might have to kill ya!
