Check out Offpiste Sydney snow simulator centre

snow action team 30.07.2019

The number one indoor ski and snowboard centre in Sydney is Offpiste Ski + Snowboard. The innovative snow simulator centre opened last year in the heart of Sydney’s Moore Park Entertainment precinct with super easy parking or good public transport access. It’s already proving very popular with skiers and boarders from kids to adults, beginners to experts.

Forget plastic slopes or moving mat set ups, the hi tec HD screen simulators at Offpiste can be programmed with a pretty limitless variety of runs and slalom courses to suit your level and inclination.

Speaking of inclination, that is what it’s all about – getting your lean on and edging your chosen ski or board set up for the level you are trying. Using SkyTech Sports simulators and technology, with HD panoramic screens, the forces and elements you experience are generated to create an exact match of the physics and G-force effect of downhill skiing and snowboarding with incorporated powerful drives and sensors simulating intense vibrations and compression effects.
The simulator tracks every movement of your skis or snowboard. Multiple built-in sensors map all the parameters, such as the position of your skis on the slope and your edging angles.

Offpiste have a range of new rental ski and snowboard boots, with their use included in your session along with the personal attention of an Offpiste instructor. Owners Pascal and Chadia Mouawad are ski fanatics since childhood themselves, they get it, and their personal enthusiasm along with their handpicked staff make sure you get great service and attention.

For fitness, pre-trip work outs, interschools training, or just learning the basics or fine tuning your skiing/boarding technique indoors, in a safe and warm environment, sessions here save precious time at the mountain for real skiing and snowboarding.

Their latest ‘Race Pack’ multi session option is great for Slalom and Giant Slalom, Gate Training, Line & Rhythm, Edging & Pressure control, Stamina & Endurance plus Muscle Memory & Conditioning.

But maybe more important, it’s all a lot of fun – great for everything from kid’s birthday parties to office functions and events. Race your friends, colleagues or kids – Snowaction got onto Offpiste at a function for the Epic Australia Pass, and although we got our ass kicked it by media colleagues it was a great evening.

They can cater superbly to your function needs, with gourment food platters and drinks as required.

Skiing is believing, and getting the boots on and working both the easier Summit and bigger Avalanche options was enjoyable, and tiring – they sure do work the muscles you use when skiing. This is indoor skiing done right Sydney, get on down!

It also got us thinking how many useful ways you can use the set up at Offpiste. Trying new boots before you go to the snow is one example – do a session or two here and you will soon notice any pressure points in the new boots.

We also used Offpiste to test the new Aussie-designed Pudz ankle and shin protector inserts recently. A session here and we noticed immediately the difference they made and how good they felt – with a trip to Moore Park being a lot easier then the 11 hour Sydney – Snow round trip to do that! We have been back here to try out Drífa snow gear with removable protection pads too, an innovative Australian company making great gear – check the story here.

If there are no big events or footy games on at the stadiums at Moore Park you can park in the multi-story park there for 3 hours for free, which anyone who lives in Sydney will know is a huge bonus, parking being a general nightmare to do anything usually. Or on event days Off-Piste stamp your parking ticket and you get 2 hours free parking.

Offpiste’s Sydney snow simulator centre is popular, so get on the website and book your sessions or give them a call to discuss functions and parties.
