This May marks the 75th anniversary of the Warren Miller Film Tour to Australia and New Zealand—When the first film from Warren Miller debuted in 1949, it ignited a new genre of filmmaking for the snowsports industry. Today, Warren Miller films have captured the stories of skiers and riders from every edge of the winter world and continue to gather audiences each year as the snow begins to fall to celebrate the start of the season.
Appropriately titled “75”, this year’s film is the second installment in the two-year celebration of this momentous anniversary. Last year, viewers relived the hills, ski trends, icons, and innovators that defined winter sports for over seven decades with Warren Miller’s ALL TIME. This year, viewers can expect to discover new, rising talent and storytelling that focuses on the future of the sport with Warren Miller’s “75.”
Following a sold-out season in North America, “Warren Miller’s 75” will make its Australian debut on May 14th at Classic Cinemas, Melbourne. The tour will travel across more than 45 cities in Australia and New Zealand, uniting snow lovers, families, and local mountain communities in a shared celebration of the ski and snowboard lifestyle.
THE FILM: A FRESH VISION FOR THE NEXT 75 YEARS
Warren Miller’s 75 features 90 minutes of all-new footage, with ten jaw-dropping segments filmed across the globe—from Canada, Japan and Austria, to the unlikely slopes of New Jersey. This landmark film also features collaborations with creators whose careers were inspired by Warren Miller himself, including Selema Masekela, Real SkiFi, Sherpas Cinema, Technically Doing It, and Framework.
“75 is unlike anything we’ve created before—it’s fast, fresh, and fiercely future-focused,” says Josh Haskins, Warren Miller producer. “We’re celebrating the past by handing the mic to the next generation of creators and athletes.”
The film showcases a stacked athlete roster, including snowboarding icons Shaun White, Zeb Powell, Toby Miller, and Danny Davis, as well as rising stars like LJ Henriquez. On the skiing side, audiences will witness unforgettable segments featuring Max Hitzig, Lexi duPont, Aaron Blunck, Cassie Sharpe, Alex Ferreira, and Caite Zeliff—just to name a few.
