Sport Australia Hall of Fame Celebrates Torah Bright

On Monday November 17th, Australian sport elite converged on Crown Palladium in Melbourne for the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Gala Dinner.

Torah Bright is one of Australia’s most decorated snowboarders, known for her achievements across multiple disciplines. She won Olympic gold in the women’s halfpipe at Vancouver 2010 and silver at Sochi 2014, becoming the first athlete to compete in three snowboarding events, halfpipe, slopestyle, and snowboard cross at a single Games. Bright has also claimed multiple X Games medals, including two golds in superpipe, and is a three-time World Superpipe Champion, with additional podium finishes at the US Open and other international competitions. Recognised nationally,  she has received the Ski & Snowboard Australia Athlete of the Year award, the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), and was announced as a 2025 inductee into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame now.

The Event

Olympic heroes, world champions, corporate leaders and national luminaries walked the red carpet in celebration of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame’s 40th anniversary and Torah Bright, covergirl for Snow Action 2025 was rightfully celebrated.

The Don Award, introduced in 1998 and named after Sir Donald Bradman AC, honours an Australian athlete or team whose achievements over the past year have most inspired the nation. The Dawn Award, established in 2021 and named after Dawn Fraser AC MBE, recognises an individual, team or organisation that demonstrates courage and bravery and has changed sport for the better.
