Thredbo Resort, in collaboration with Snow Australia, is proud to announce that the Thredbo Triple Crown Slopestyle and Big Air events are now officially FIS-sanctioned and form part of the Australian New Zealand Cup (ANC) Series. This development marks the return of park FIS events to Australian snowfields for the first time since 2022 and represents an awesome leap forward for the local freestyle ski and snowboard community.

Kicking off with the 2025 Thredbo Triple Crown Series presented by Boost Mobile, registered FIS athletes across Youth, Junior, and Open categories will be judged under the official FIS points system. Results will now contribute to both the Triple Crown standings and the ANC Series podiums, providing a rare dual pathway to earn valuable FIS points and gain international recognition—while also competing for a slice of the $60,000 prize pool.

“This is a game-changer for Australian athletes,” said Johnny Lipzker, Sport Development Coordinator at Snow Australia. “Partnering with Thredbo to bring FIS points competitions back to our slopes creates meaningful opportunities for local riders to climb the international ranks and work toward qualifying for global events like the Europa Cup and the Winter Olympics.”

Thredbo Event Manager Sam Noller echoed the excitement: “Bringing FIS park events back to Thredbo is a huge step. It reinforces our commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and provides an elite platform right here in the Aussie Alps for athletes to launch international careers.”

Winners of the ANC Series—based on combined results from two Slopestyle events and one Big Air—will also secure a personal World Cup quota spot for the 2025/26 season, paving the way toward Olympic qualification for Milano Cortina 2026.

The Thredbo Triple Crown Slopestyle event takes place August 1, 2025.
