Roxa RX Tour ski boot first impressions

snow action team 23.06.2020

Roxa RX Tour ski boots are minimalist perfection – lightweight yet powerful to handle any snow conditions.

Which is handy if you love to get out to more obscure places like our RX Tour tester Shaun Mittwollen. From the Myoko Grand Traverse to the wilds of Tasmania, he has a penchant for going further and harder than most.

Roxa RX tour first impressions:

“Coming from a downhill focused touring boot these Roxa’s feel more like hiking boots than ski boots in terms of weight and range of motion. While softer than downhill focused touring boots, it feels like there’s more than enough stiffness to ski gnarly terrain with a balanced centred stance. For lines with challenging access I feel these boots will have an excess of advantage over the heavier stiffer styles.”

Attention to detail includes “hinged” liners for pinch free hiking too.

Shaun may well have the only pair of Roxa RX Tour boots in the country. Stay tuned for his full test report as soon as we get just a tad more snow ..

But the burlier Roxa R3 130 series – the lightest performance boots on the market – ARE in stores now, after a few COVID-19 delays shipping from Italy. For ladies who like to get out there the Roxa R3W 105 is the go from the same series, and available in the same stores.

Check them out at Harro’s Snowsports Lake Crackenback for Perisher & Thredbo side skiers or Everest Sports in Bright for Hotham & Falls side skiers.

For burlier but still only 1520gms in 26.5 check the Roxa R3

For an intro to the Roxa difference the R3 100 model, with alpine binding compatible toe, is available from key rental outlets at Rhythm Snowsports in Cooma, Jindabyne Sports in Jindy, Everest Sports at Bright and One Tree Sports at Hotham. Use it with your regular ski/binding set up and see the difference saving weight makes or hire with some AT gear for a side country sesh.

The further you go the more you appreciate the weight savings.
