Qantas are having a 3 day Fly Away NZ sale with great deals in peak snow season for skiers and boarders keen to get back there.
There are plenty of deals. Sure, Queenstown is there, ex-Sydney from $349 one way between 6 July and 15 September for example.
But remember Queenstown and its surrounding ski areas are not the only game in town.
Christchurch flights are cheaper, from $279 for the same dates, with Mt Hutt only 90 minutes or so from the airport – we skied till 130pm on our last day last trip there for example. The awesome Craigieburn Range club fields, Ski Porters, Olympus and Temple Basin are other options in the region.
Or why not try the North Island instead – the best value ski passes for a big ski area in Australasia are on offer at Mt Ruapehu’s mighty Turoa and Whakapapa. Just $NZD 74 midweeks, well under half the Aussie equivalent.
You can fly into either Auckland or Wellington for these, with both from $299 in that same 6 July – 15 September window. In fact or a great road trip fly into one and out the other is a great option too.
The same fares apply from Melbourne or Brisbane.
New Qantas routes like Gold Coast – Auckland make it easy for anyone in SE Queensland/northern NSW to access the North Island snow too. NZ Fly Away Sale fares go from $279 for 6 July – 15 September.
From Cairns to Auckland, another new route, is only $299 in July as well at sale fares.
From Perth (let’s hope the bubble pauses get sorted by winter!) pay from $399 to Auckland or $999 business.
Whichever NZ destination you prefer, these are great flight deals from Qantas get them while they last.
