Hanazono Niseko gets huge makeover for 2019-20!

snow action team 02.05.2019

Hanazono Niseko is having it’s biggest makeover ever for winter 2019-20. The great snow buckets of it stays the same but you won’t recognise much else on arrival. There’s new ski in/ski out luxury accommodation, an amazing new base building, and one of the coolest kid’s facilities you’ll ever see.

For 15 years the word has been that Hanazono would transform from a sleepy, if very snowy, sideshow at Niseko, to the real deal – Asia’s premier international ski and resort destination.

The GFC and a few other things slowed progress, but in recent years improvements have been regular and anyone who doubted the seriousness of the grand plan will be silenced this winter.

Luxury slopeside accommodation at the new Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono Hotel & Residences takes ski in/ski out to new levels of comfort and convenience in Niseko.

The spectacular new Hanazono Edge Ski Centre complex will have to be seen to be believed. Hanazono 308 has long been our favourite on-mountain lunch spot across the area, but the replacement is next level and the beer towers remain!

Even better for families is the incredible “Galaxy of Kidz” facility – the new Indoor Kids Activity Centre. Inside are climbing walls, slides, adventure trails, plus a restaurant and chef exclusively for the NISS (Niseko International Snowsports School) Kids Program participants. Access is included with all NISS kids programs and to avoid disappointment we recommend locking these in when you make your accommodation bookings.

Outside kids already love the tunnel covered magic carpets, tubing and kid’s snowmobiles. You can add snow rafting to that this season.

Along with the overall quieter experience on the Hanazono side of Niseko’s 4 mountains and great progressive terrain there, Hanazono Niseko is an unbeatable option for families.

Adults can take advantage of the 5 client maximum group size lessons from NISS too. Save 15% on group lessons if you book by 30 September.

Massive new lift developments follow on for the 2020/21 season, only enhancing the experience further.

UPDATE: Due to COVID restrictions the Austrian tech team from Doppelmayr couldn’t make it out in summer 2020 to finish the new gondola out of the base so that will have to wait for 2021/22 season

Deep powder riding at Hanazono Niseko
The snow stay’s the same as does your best chance to guarantee first tracks in it with Hanazono Powder Guides

While all of this is further indication there is no stopping Niseko’s ever growing international popularity, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the best snow — Hanazono Powder Guides First Tracks programs are the best way to guarantee first shot at it. You get to load with the chairs a full hour before regular clients, and exclusive access to the runs then. HPG do have number limits to though, so as for Kid’s programs, it’s best to lock it all in as soon as you set your accommodation dates.

There are plenty of great accommodation deals for Niseko too, including 25% off in main season or up to 30% in low season – check them at Vacation Niseko.
