How much do you know about Diamond Peak in the stunning Lake Tahoe region of Nevada USA? Test your knowledge, you must need it the next time you do pub trivia!

Did you know…

When it first opened in 1966 it was called Ski Incline.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort featured the first snowmaking equipment in the western United States.

It’s located in North Tahoe which has the highest concentration of ski resorts in North America.

The vertical drop is 1840 feet (561 metres).

You can ski until April at Diamond Peak.

The ski resort was designed by Austrian ski designer, Luggi Foeger and chosen partly for a mix of terrain and partly for stunning lake views.

The Native American tribes historically associated with the North Lake Tahoe area were the Washoe people.

For visitors, a local tip…

For recommended lunchtime views, head to Diamond Peak’s mid-mountain lodge, located at the top of the Lakeview chairlift, Snowflake Lodge and sit outside on the panoramic sun deck.

Adults (ages 21+ in the USA) can warm up with signature drink, the Snowflake Snuggler (hot chocolate with vanilla vodka, Baileys and Rumple Minze, topped with whipped cream), or enjoy a cocktail*.

You can fly into San Francisco and drive to Diamond Peak in 3.5-4.5 hours and drive from Los Angeles in 8-9 hours.

Snowflake Lodge is open daily 9:00am – 3:30pm.  Drinks and packaged snacks are available 9:00am to 10:30am and lunch is served 10:30am to 2:30am. Happy hour drink specials are offered 2:00pm – 3:30pm
