SNOW ACTION PRINT MAGAZINE CONTRIBUTING WRITER GUIDELINES
Love the snow? So do we. Snow Action is Australia’s snow travel magazine (in print
for 28 years) covering ski, snowboard and snow lifestyle content from around the globe.
Whether it’s waist-deep Japow, Aussie backcountry lines, or après in Europe, we
publish inspiring, useful and authentic stories by writers who live and breathe the snow
life.
What We’re Looking For:
We welcome first-person narratives, travel features, insider tips, athlete profiles, snow
family content, and destination spotlights. Strong entries include rich detail, a clear
angle, and personal insight backed by firsthand experience. We value writing that
makes readers feel like they’re already there.
We especially love:
- Snow travel from Australia and New Zealand
- Global ski/snowboard resorts and unique experiences
- Family snow trips, female-focused features, adaptive travel
- Gear tested in the field
- Local legends and grassroots stories
Article Length:
Most articles fall between 400 and 600 words for print depending on subject and
section. Shorter evergreen content or quick guides may also be accepted.
Do you want to become a contributor?
Send your pitch to emma@adventureentertainment.com with:
- Your name, email and phone number
- A short author bio – 2-4 lines only
- Any links to previous published work (if available)
If published we require :
- Your story as a Google Document in 12 Ariel font
- Image files or a link to download (Dropbox, Google Drive)Photos are essential.
- Please include 4–8 high-res images with your submission. Captions and photo
credits must be provided. iPhone photo quality unfortunately will not be
acceptable for print. - Subject Line: “Submission – [Your Story Title] – [Location]”
Payment & Rights: - We pay $90–$300 AUD per published article depending on length, quality and
photography. - Payment is made 30 days after publication.
- We purchase non-exclusive digital rights, meaning you retain ownership and
can republish elsewhere after 60 days.
Note:
Snow Action is an independent Australian title, and we prioritise
authentic voices and original content. Submissions may be edited for clarity
and style.
We can’t reply to every submission, but we’ll be in touch if your story is a good fit.
