Beaver Creek designer ski resort perfection personified

snow action team 30.10.2018

Beaver Creek is the ultimate designer deluxe ski resort. Every little thing that can possibly make your ski experience simpler, and better, has been thought of and applied. From the trail layout to the immaculate grooming to the “refresh” snowmaking top ups on tap to keep conditions ideal, skiing here is often effortless.

Hero snow is understatement. If you want to look good in your designer outfits and impress friends, family, business contacts or whoever, it doesn’t get any easier than this. Sprawling over 5 rolling peaks, the terrain is perfect for progression.

The Haymeadow Park dedicated learn-to-ski zone right out front at the main Beaver Creek village base area makes everything so simple. An express gondola lift, sculpted terrain, and a Ski valet service to carry your/the kids gear as the icing on the cake. From here you can step up to endless long, open groomed runs – a plethora of green trails open up from the summit of Beaver Creek Mountain. Step up to some intermediate bowls and glades as your confidence quickly grows.

Making life so easy and having so much easy to intermediate terrain belies the fact Beaver Creek hosts World Cup Downhill races on the Birds of Prey course, and has some very tasty advanced glades too. With a lot of the guests not so keen on powder your chances of getting fresh lines in them are good. Grouse Mountain is all black and double black runs.

Skiing around between the different base villages – Beaver Creek itself, Arrowhead and Bachelor’s Gulch, is another plus open to all levels.

The guest experience and accommodation is aimed at the top end, with superb deluxe offerings the norm to satisfy the most demanding tastes.

But if staying in the villages is out of your budget there is a cheat available down the road at Avon. This is hooked up by gondola to the day parking area lift to the main mountain. Aussies with an Epic Australia Pass in their jacket sleeve get up to 10 ski days total between Beaver Creek, Vail and Whistler so if your ski pass is free why not live it up we say?

The same applies to the finde dining. A bottle of wine can cost more than an average person’s entire ski holiday if you want. Or go burgers and beers and fill up on the free cookies.

Beaver Creek vies with Deer Valley for the title of number #1 deluxe ski resort in America (or arguably the World). But with Epic Pass options and the Avon cheat option to stay it can be actually be just as affordable as skiing most major American resorts. So no excuses for not checking it out soon.
