New TomTom Bandit action cameras shake it up!
At last there is a good reason to use something other than GoPros – the new TomTom Bandit Action Camera is incredibly easy to use and the unique app interface makes it amazingly easy to edit your footage and share a finished vid in no time. SnowAction got our hands on one of the first 3 in the country last month and even the most low tec guy in the office, me, can make it work in no time.
The TomTom Bandit is the first ever camera to come with a built-in media server, eliminating the need to download footage before being able to edit it. The camera works with a companion app, making it possible to create videos and overlay them with your favourite music and metrics and share them in a matter of minutes, simply by shaking your smartphone if you want let it all happen auto or it’s a snap to highlight and mix and match your best bits.

The new TomTom Bandit Action Camera will be available in all Harvey Norman stores nationally as well as from TomTom online store at RRP$AUD579. A premium pack at RRP$AUD699 will be available in August. The TomTom Bandit Action Camera produces great quality video. It has a wide angle lens, high-end 16 MP CCD sensor and a powerful processor. It is equipped with in-camera motion and GPS sensors to automatically find and tag exciting moments based on speed, altitude, G-force, acceleration and heart rate*. Highlights can also be tagged manually with a tagging button on the camera or the remote control*.
The uniquely designed Batt-Stick combines the long lasting battery, microSD card and SuperSpeed USB 3.0. It plugs directly into a computer via USB to charge and download footage, removing the need for additional cables or adaptors. The camera is also completely waterproof, eliminating the need for an additional bulky case.** The steel ring mounting system has a quick release mechanism and the low profile of the TomTom Bandit looks great on a helmet.

We are just starting to have a lot fun with it now and will be posting more clips soon. We get a lot of these cameras to review, but nothing has caused as much buzz round here that wasn’t from GoPro for a long time. The TomTom Bandit rocks!
The app interface makes editing on the fly as easy as shaking your phone!
Ease of use is a great plus, the off and on buttons let you confidently know when you are actually shooting or not or you can use your phone screen to set the shots; we soon forgot the screen most of the time, then back at the restaurant or in the gondola got editing straight away.
The mount is clever, with full 360° rotation (just check it the full 360° before you stick down the 3M mount on the side of a helmet). On top of the helmet it’s easy to tap the on & off and highlight buttons and adjust the tilt, we haven’t played with selfie sticks and such but if you or your mates have got GoPro ones then easy as to get them happening.
Weighs nothing, the unique Batt-Stick design means no cords required, and just works straight up. The app interface is intuitive and fun to use, streets ahead of others we have tried over past couple of years. Battery life seems good and so far we are loving it.
