A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony at Cloudchaser’s bottom terminal begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16. After brief remarks from Mt. Bachelor and POWDR officials, guests will load the lift and begin their discovery of new terrain on the mountain’s east side.
Cloudchaser is Mt Bachelor’s eighth high-speed detachable quad chairlift, rising 1,448 vertical feet along a slope length of 6,800 feet.
“This is one of the largest improvement projects in Mt. Bachelor’s history,” said John McLeod, Mt Bachelor’s president and general manager. “I am incredibly grateful to our employees and contractors, our customers, the Forest Service and POWDR for making the Cloudchaser project possible. We’re about to be rewarded with an amazing new skiing and snowboarding experience.”
Mt Bachelor is the fifth largest ski resort in the USA, offering 4,318 acres of lift-accessible terrain. The mountain features 11 lifts, eight of which are Express Quads. Mt Bachelor also features 5 terrain parks, 56K of groomed cross country trails, snowshoeing, tubing, sled dog rides and summer attractions including downhill mountain biking. For such a great resort it’s a shame it’s not on too many Aussie skiers/boarders radars – as we pointed out in last July’s Travel Bible issue it has plenty to offer. Check more on that here.
